The morning board is the housekeeping department's plan. On Lance the supervisor builds it the way they always have, by floor, by section, by who is in today, and Lance evens the load across attendants. At AC Hotel South San Francisco that takes about two minutes. It used to take two hours.
Every room is on the board with its current state. The supervisor assigns rooms to attendants on the board, and Lance balances the count across everyone on shift, so nobody gets nine checkouts while the next section gets four. Each attendant sees only their own rooms on the tablet.
Dirty, in progress, clean, inspected. An attendant taps start on the pad and the tile turns in progress; taps done and it turns clean; the supervisor inspects and it turns inspected. The dashboard at the desk and every tablet on the floor show the same board, updated in real time.
A checkout-time badge on the tile tells the attendant when the room frees up. Remarks and notes, extra pillows, a crib, a late checkout, a guest who asked not to be disturbed, sit on the room for the attendant, the supervisor and the desk to see. Nothing on a sticky note on the cart.

Housekeeping staffing is arithmetic that most hotels do by feel. Lance does it from the numbers: occupancy for each day ahead, the rooms that turns into, the minutes your property allows per room, and the people available. The solver builds the week; the supervisor reviews and publishes it.
The forecast comes from ProfitSage where your group uses it, or from the reports your PMS already emails (Marriott FOSSE, Hilton OnQ, Hyatt Opera, Power of M), checked every 15 minutes. Lance turns each day's occupancy into checkouts and stayovers, which is the number of rooms housekeeping has to turn.
Minutes per room for a checkout and for a stayover are your property's numbers, entered once. Rooms times minutes is the day's hours, and hours is how many attendants the day needs. The solver does this for all seven days in one pass, so a busy Saturday and a quiet Tuesday get different crews.
Availability, approved leave, days off, hour caps and consecutive-day limits are hard constraints: the solver never schedules over them. Rest between shifts is a weighted penalty it avoids wherever the roster allows. The supervisor reviews the week, regenerates a single day if the forecast or the roster changes, and publishes. Published is the plan the department works from.
Task Management turns what the attendant finds into a work order for engineering.
Housekeeping sees every room every day, which makes it the hotel's best inspection team. A shower that will not stop dripping, a lamp that is out, a towel bar coming off the wall: on Lance the attendant logs it from the pad in the room, and it lands in engineering's queue with the room attached. No walk to the desk, no note that gets lost.
The attendant opens the room on the tablet, adds the work order and keeps cleaning. The order carries the room, what was found and who raised it. The same queue takes orders from a guest call answered by the AI Front Desk, from the desk, and from the supervisor's inspection round.
Engineering works from one list: open, assigned, done. Whoever on shift has the capability to act is notified on their pad; a supervisor can reassign in one tap. Timing runs from start to stop, so you know how long a leak actually waited. An email copy can go to a maintenance address if the hotel wants one.
Engineering closes the order on the pad, in the room. The housekeeping supervisor and the desk see the status change the same second, so the supervisor knows when the room is fit to inspect and release, without radioing engineering to ask.
Mobile puts the board on the cart.
Attendants do not work at a desk, so the board cannot live on one. The operations pad runs on managed Android tablets in kiosk mode, bound to your hotel, with a login for each staff member. Boards, tasks, preventive maintenance, readings, messages and announcements, all on the tablet on the cart.
The tablet is registered to the hotel by an admin and locked to the pad. An attendant enters a PIN and sees their own assignments for the shift. What each person can see and do is set by role, so a room attendant, a supervisor and an engineer get different screens from the same device.
Each room on the list has the actions the job needs: start the room, mark it done, add a note the desk will see, raise a work order. Supervisors mark rooms inspected from the same pad. Every tap updates the board on the dashboard and on every other tablet at once.
Announcements and shift notes from the supervisor reach every pad, translated for staff who read in another language. At shift change the next person signs in on the same tablet and gets their own list.
